David always said he wanted to go sit on a beach somewhere.  That's why I chose this backdrop.

I hope you'll all enjoy the pictures that I've been receiving from a lot of different sources.

David (Moose) Ziminsky, 46, of Nanticoke, formerly of Mountain Top and Kingston, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, at his home, surrounded by his family and loved ones, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mr. Ziminisky was born in Wilkes-Barre, the son of Albert Ziminsky, White Haven, and Rose Meade Ziminsky, Kingston, and attended Crestwood High School, Mountain Top.

He had been employed by Rex Shoe and Carter Rubber Co., Wilkes-Barre, and was last employed by Medico Industries, Plains Township.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Karis Ziminsky; and by a brother, Mark Ziminsky.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are a stepson, Daniel Wasilewski and his wife, Kelly, Nanticoke; a sister, Angela Makowski and her husband, Mark, Ashley; his maternal grandmother, Rose Ginley Meade, Mountain Top; a step-grandson, Daniel Wasilewski Jr., Nanticoke; nephews and niece, Brian, Mark and Amy Makowski, Ashley; great-nephew, Brayden Makowski, Ashley; and his loving companion, caregiver and fiancee, Debbie Kuryloski, Nanticoke; also numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Holy Rosary/St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church, 33 Manhattan St., Ashley. The Rev. Thomas J. O'Malley, pastor, and Deacon Daniel Wilverding, St. Therese Residence, Wilkes-Barre, a great-uncle of David's, will officiate. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Township. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church Saturday, where visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m.

The family requests that flowers be omitted and that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, Suite 118, 190 Welles St., Forty Fort, PA 18704.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Hospice Care of the VNA for their wonderful care and thoughtfulness, as well as to David's many friends that assisted in any way.
